This is the eighteenth episode in season one of the music business reality show “The Biz.” Nine contestants compete to become the president of their own record label under Warner Music Group.

In this episode:
Only two contestants are promoted to Vice President. The remaining four meet with Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles to decide their fate.

   @prodigee411 I feel you but people got eat, and in order for people to eat money needs to be made. So the business aspect of this music thing is just as important as the artistry.

   Def Jam was hot …
   Def Jam was hot before they had all these execs who don’t know about hip hop (Julie Greenwald), but what makes it worse they hire a bunch of hip hop heads who don’t know about the business or corporate america. They need to learn how to meet in the middle and quit handing out promotions to their “friends”.

   I hate this industry, it’s all about sucking another guy’s ball to get ahead. Def Jam and any label that puts the business before the music.
