Where Can I Get The Music License For A Song of Rock Band ‘Camel’ To Use On My Web Series?
January 292010
I am in the middle of creating a non-commercial Web Series on the internet and I’m looking to find out where and who holds the copyrights to the songs of a 70’s progressive rock band called ‘Camel’ from their 1976 album ‘Moonmadness’. After countless of research, I’ve learned that they released the album by the label Decca Records from the Universal Music Group (UMG) which has their own publishing group for music licensing but as I was searching, I could not find any of their songs there. I was wondering if anyone knows who really owns the song rights for this album and where can I find them for purchasing the rights for it? I’m having trouble finding who really has the rights for the songs so I can get in contact and use one of the songs for my web series. Do I request it from UMG? or Do get In contact with Camel directly for the rights? What should I do? Thank you.
You dont have to if you put a note down that you do not own the song and are not intending on copyright and all the rights belong to UMG.
Then you should be fine.
