How can you NOT …
How can you NOT like this fun song and whacky video?? I think the band all had a good, fun laugh at this.

@steveskin1
I was at the Twin River show as well, up in the front row. Dennis got a chuckle out of that request. He didn’t play my request of Unfinished Song either, but his new band really did a great job.

I saw Dennis in …
I saw Dennis in concert last week, and a shout out from someone in the crowd came for this song. They didn’t play it, but it would have been cool if they did.

Underrated classic …
Underrated classic by Styx. Should’ve peaked higher than only #40 in Billboard.

I think this song …
I think this song was pretty spot on in terms of predicting the general mindset of America in the 80s. Granted it was already ‘84, but “bigger louder brighter better” would pervade the rest of the decade.

I have wanted to see this video since like 1986 or 1987. Saw Mr. Roboto on my nephews page and thought of this video. Thanks for posting this sweet song & video.

I love Styx, and am …
I love Styx, and am sad that the classic line-up will never be, again.
However, (and I lovingly say this) I almost certain this video gave me Polio, somehow.

It was brave of …
It was brave of them to try to evolve, at any rate. It’s a fun song, no doubt.

My view (for what …
My view (for what its worth) is that anyone who knocks or questions this excellent piece of work is neither a Styx Fan or wasn’t around at the time (or just doesn’t get it!).

It’s easy to see …
It’s easy to see why Tommy left Styx after the fiasco that was CITA!

I definitely agree …
I definitely agree with you that this song has a strong Devo feel to it, even though I don’t consider this being one of their best songs it is a fun catchy tune

I’ve totally …
I’ve totally forgotten all about this song, I think this song is way better than “Mr. Roboto” (which I’ve never liked)

Rolling Stone reviewed this as one Styx’ best songs — and I don’t think they liked much in the past.

For some reason I thought this was a Devo song for the longest time. Thanks to Wikipedia for clearing things up!

Dennis just put out …
Dennis just put out a new album called One Hundred Years From Now which sounds more like classic Styx than anything JY and Tommy did since they oustered him. The only reason this song was recorded was to include on the double album Caught in the Act as a selling point for the live album. This was Styx’s last US Top 40 hit until “Show Me the Way” in 1991. It was DDY who put Styx on ice after TS went AWOL on the band during the mixing of CitA (JY and the Panozzos wanted to go on without TS).

That’s what I said …
That’s what I said – Brave New World was where Tommy returned; you. There’s are reason why I mentioned Tommy’s return with BNW in parentheses.
“Edge” (without Tommy) got Styx their only real hit in the last 20+ years, and some of its tracks that were Glen or JY vocaled were pretty fun to listen to.
Cyclorama had to be the worst album I ever had the misfortune of paying money for. most of the songs were attack songs on Dennis, but actually described THEMSELVES in their attacks, not him.

tommy wasn’t with …
tommy wasn’t with styx when edge of the century was released. he was with Yankees. Glen Burtnik was with styx at that time.

That was their low …
That was their low point for the 80s…. Trying to be too commercial…
Edge of the Century & Brave new World (where Tommy returned to the group) were excellent albums that almost noone knows about – then they kicked Dennis out, and have produced nothing but crap ever since, reduced to playing Dennis’ songs at town festivals (one step below county fairs). The big problem appears to be JY not comprehending Styx NEVER was a metal band, and Dennis having health issues and doing Broadway.
