How do i get discovered for a music label??

i live in a small town and LOVE singing and is good at it too how do i contact a record company such as geffen or A and m or Universal Music Group for a sample of my work?
get an agent and manager I guess. introduce your music to radio stations, and get gigs whenever and whereever you are.
NETWORK! talk to as many people as you can, because people will talk to other people, and in the end someone’s aunt’s neighbor will turn out to be from Universal Music Group or something.
