yeah, maybe they should more accutately name themselves. I have one that wont waste the money they spent on their sign out front. How about “Expert Village Idiot”?

finishing my comment just below, dont have the singer aim up to the mic. Have them sing aiming straight forward as natural. The spit and plosives shoot under the mic and wont hit it. If they do, raise the mic a tad more and aim straight for the mouth. Incidentally, I didnt make this up. This was the old school technique used by the masters, back when their U47s were new. On an aside, Mo, from long years of touring, good manners dictates that you don’t come into your hand. Use a sock:)

Absolutely. (except if the cue is too loud, they sing sharp because of an audio illusion occurring) The one ear thing really works for me. Very low cue volume and listen to my voice naturally in the room. No forcing, and excellent pitch.

Mic the chin! Great mic, bad advice. I wouldnt worry too much about capturing the body resonance. but my advice will also facilitate that as well. First off, take the windscreen and throw it in the trash. (or you can recycle the pantyhose into a mask with which you can rob the money to afford a mic like that) Now, raise the mic about 4 inches ABOVE the mouth. Standing between 7 and 18 inches away, depending on how much proximity you want, aim the mic down directly toward the mouth. Oldschool 101

Singers do better (sing on key better) when they wear a headphone only on one ear. Then they can hear themselves in the room. Singers almost always tend to sing a little flat when wearing headphones on both ears, even if you feed them into the headphones. This is from long long years of experience.
