    Really creative …
Really creative people aren’t concerned about being ‘ahead’ of their time. They always create
    something that’s absolutely timeless.
    Lou has. Many times.

    Like it or not, …
Like it or not, this album is important. If nothing else it is the ultimate example of an artist telling his label to go screw themselves. Reed was sick and tired of RCA demanding that he record another Transformer. Granted, I personally think that most of Reed’s solo material leaves much to be desired (I’ll take Cale over Reed anyday), but this took guts and balls that very few musicians have.

@NyeTunes I know , I just think its hilarious that all these people think its “beautiful” or has a “secret meaning”, not to sound like a dick but it is guitar feedback that sounds horrific … there is no meaning , the man was just on drugs and apologised for this rubbish , its just lucky everything else he did was so good otherwise alotta people would of boycotted his music for tricking them into buying this

I love lou reed and the VU , but he even said himself whoever is dumb enough to listen is dumber than he was to put it out , there is no meaning , the man was just on drugs admittedly , sorry to burst your bubbles but there is no meaning , its guitar feedback and noise made by a man who was seriously intoxicated

  24. cyclothymic Says:

    When he released …
When he released this he was at the top of his game – had multi-selling singles and albums and was a pop sensation.

This was his response – and it predated by 20 years the ‘noise scene’ that we now see as being this.

If you do not appreciate this on YouTube then buy the CD and drive around at night listening to it. After a while it/you will click and you will understand – not understand the noise, but understand something more important
