Not “elevator muzak … Not “elevator muzak”, ‘uma’- this was designed for stores, factories, and other businesses that subscribed to the Seeburg Music Library and used a “Seeburg 1000 Background Music System”, which Muzak did NOT provide for its subscribers (they used phone lines, tape recorders and special FM channels)- but they outlasted Seeburg’s service, and continues to this day..
Originally, Capitol pressed the 16 2/3 rpm Seeburg records, but RCA Custom succeeded them by the mid-’60s.
